Alternative ways to get prenatal vitamins

When a woman gets pregnant, she always makes sure that she provides the best for her baby in terms of its health.  Because of this, she takes care of herself through taking in a healthy balanced diet and a regimen of exercise.  Normally, she would also consult her doctor for a prescription on the best prenatal vitamins that she could take to supplement her daily diet. However, there are really women who could not take prenatal vitamins during the early stages of their pregnancy.  This is mainly because they get nauseous and would only end up vomiting the prenatal vitamins that they took.  There are others also who refuse to take prenatal vitamins because of the notion that these synthetic vitamins could do more harm than good to their unborn babies. Because of this, there are more and more health providers now that are looking into alternative ways for gestating mothers to get prenatal vitamins without resorting to the intake of the synthetic ones.  This is because there are really essential nutrients like the folic acid and iron that a pregnant woman may not get enough of, out of her daily diet.  There are doctors and other health providers that advise the intake of herbal supplements in the place of prenatal vitamins.  These herbal supplements that are usually derived from trees, roots, flowers and other plants, usually contain organic components that would still give the same nutrients found in synthetic prenatal vitamins.     There are other doctors who recommend a higher intake of the fruits and vegetables that contain the necessary nutrients found in prenatal vitamins.  For more folic acid without the intake of prenatal vitamins, increased ingestion of peas, broccoli, green or yellow beans and cauliflower as well as orange juice, strawberries and cantaloupe are advised. For more iron, there are the meat or meat alternatives like lentils or dried beans.  Aside from taking in more milk and yogurt, an alternative to getting more calcium without taking prenatal vitamins is eating more broccoli, cheese and drinking juice drinks fortified with calcium. Aside from fruits and vegetables and herbal alternatives to prenatal vitamins, there are also other products that are introduced now to take the place of these prenatal pills.  There are already food bars, which contain the essential nutrients of folic acid, calcium and iron as well as other vitamins and minerals, which could be taken instead of prenatal vitamins.  This prenatal supplement could either be prescribed by your doctor or bought over the counter and could be eaten to complement your usual balanced diet.  They are even available in flavors that may appeal to the usual finicky appetite of those who are at the early stage of their pregnancy
